Community-driven status bar

YASB Reborn is the status bar Windows power users tune like the rest of their rig.

It stays lightweight, readable, and obsessively configurable: live system signals, custom widgets, and automation hooks that snap into your workflow without bloat. You get rapid updates from the community without inheriting any extra bloat-just the parts you wire up yourself.

Why "YASB Reborn"?

YASB stands for Yet Another Status Bar. The first version inspired a generation of desktop setups, but eventually went unmaintained. Rather than fork it quietly, we embraced the history and signaled a fresh start by adding “Reborn.” The name is a reminder that good ideas deserve second lives when the community still cares.

We are Windows enthusiasts first: folks who love squeezing every ounce of clarity and productivity out of the taskbar. Reborn means quicker releases, better docs, and a focus on polish that the original project could never fully ship.

What keeps us building

Three principles guide YASB Reborn as we ship new widgets, APIs, and themes.

Stay legible & delightful

Status bars should reduce noise, not add more. Every release focuses on typography, alignment, and performance so information feels calm.

Power-user ergonomics

YAML configs, CSS themes, keyboard shortcuts, and automation hooks stay first-class so you can bend YASB to any workflow.

Community first

We prioritize issues, themes, and documentation based on what Windows creators ask for in Discord and GitHub - no corporate roadmap, just builder energy.

Support the project

YASB Reborn stays free because of community contributions. If you want to keep nightly builds, docs, and widgets rolling, consider supporting the maintainers.
